Cooking Time: 1 hour

Serves: 1-2

ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp avocado oil

  • 1 1/4 lbs grass-fed, GRASS FINISHED ground beef 80%
    lean

  • 2 cloves garlic minced for extra ANTI-VIRAL
    ACTIVITY

  • Coarse sea salt and black pepper

  • 6 slices Organic Turkey bacon (I used thick-cut)
    cooked until crisp

  • Sliced Dill Pickles no added sugar

  • Thinly sliced red onion

  • Thinly sliced tomatoes

  • Lettuce

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon to preference first and set aside.

  2. Shape your burgers. It's important not to overwork the meat while shaping so the burgers stay juicy! I don't like adding much more than sea salt and pepper to my burgers - a little minced garlic is an optional add-in. Shape 5 patties (1/4 lb each) so they're about 1/4-1/2" thicker around the perimeter than the inside - this will help prevent the burgers from puffing up in the middle. Mine were about 3/4" on the outside. Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper as you shape them.

  3. The burgers can be grilled or pan-fried. Preheat your grill to med heat (AVOID HIGH HEAT=AVOID TOXINS) or skillet (or grill pan) to medium heatt and brush with oil. Cook for a total of 5 minutes for medium rare and 6-7 minutes for medium. The total time will depend on the exact thickness of your patties and the heat of your stovetop or grill. Use a meat thermometer to be more exact about the timing for your desired doneness.

  4. Time to layer your burgers! Start off with a slather of sauce on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, bacon, the burger patty, and more sauce. Feel free to layer the burgers however you like, but I recommend using the sauce on both the top and bottom buns.

  5. Serve the burgers right away and enjoy!
